Designed for the 2nd graders at the Waldorf School on the Roaring Fork for their holiday fundraiser Winter Fair. The pattern is meant to teach students step by step how to make a hat that will fit any person they chose to make it for. It includes photo tutorials for each step along the way.
It starts with how to measure the recipient’s head and create a “ruler”.
Then it is worked in a simple garter stitch flat, seamed, and finally a simple optional pompom and folded brim.
Materials: Up to 85 yds, 150g of super bulky yarn, or 1 skein Size 15 (10mm) straight needles, A darning needle, And an empty toilet paper roll
